Abstract

Meru Betiri National Park (TNMB) is one of the national parks that is directly adjacent to the community, which implies the need for community involvement in natural resource management and forest conservation activities. Kebonrejo Village is one of the buffer areas in TNMB conducting community empowerment in productive community groups, namely the “Oceano” Coffee Farmer Group (KTK) which produces Arabica and Robusta ground coffee. The urgency of priority problems faced includes technological limitations in the coffee milling process, which has been using a household grinder with a capacity of 250 gr per process for 15-25 kg per day so that it is not efficient both in time and in labor. One solution is technology transfer of appropriate technology scale grinder with a capacity of 5 kg per process. The activity solution mechanism is through Participatory Technology Development, which is an approach that is oriented towards increasing the direct participation of the community in activities and the use of appropriate technology through dissemination of technology transfer in the form of a grinder for coffee milling. The output target of using this technology can reduce production costs and increase the capacity, quality, and profit of partners. The results of the activity showed that there was an increase in the capacity, efficiency, and quality of ground coffee without reducing the taste and aroma and could increase the speed of the grinding process. Production capacity can increase to meet consumer demand and profits increase by 30-40% from the previous condition.
