Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease characterized by blood glucose levels that exceed normal and, if left untreated, can cause serious complications. Many DM type 2 sufferers who come to RSI Surabaya A. Yani also experience complications. Complications in people with type 2 diabetes can be caused by various factors such as non-compliance with diet, non-routine control to health care centers and inadequate DM care at home. The solution offered is the implementation of Acceptance And Commitment Therapy (ACT). The output to be achieved is the ACT Module and also the publication of articles in national journals. The method of implementing a service program is by creating a peer group and applying acceptance and commitment therapy for 4 sessions with 1 session per week and each meeting for 30 to 45 minutes. Giving ACT can affect the behavior of type 2 DM sufferers to manage DM disease according to the things that have been suggested by health workers. ACT is a form of Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) which is quite effective in improving a more flexible psychological aspect or the ability to undergo changes so that blood sugar levels can be controlled. Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) affects the increase in compliance with type 2 DM sufferers in managing DM disease suffered.
