Abstract

The Community Information Group (KIM) is a non-governmental organization managed from, by and for the community independently and creatively. The existence of KIM as a public service institution is required to be able to provide various information for the public. This is because KIM functions to increase public literacy in the field of information and mass media as well as Information and Communication Technology among KIM members and the public. KIM, Biting Village, Badegan District, Ponorogo Regency, was established in 2010 under the guidance of the Ponorogo Information and Communication Office, but the existence of KIM did not last long due to the lack of knowledge and digital literacy skills of the board. Implementers of the Community Partnership Program seize the opportunity to empower KIM by conducting digital literacy education and facilitation of websites and social media. This paper attempts to describe the implementation of digital literacy education and technology facilitation for KIM in Biting Village, Badegan, Ponorogo. The method of implementing this activity is carried out through two aspects, namely digital literacy education and technology facilitation. Digital literacy education is carried out with some training and mentoring on online journalism, while technology facilitation is in the form of websites and social media. The results of digital literacy education are in the form of an increase in partners' digital literacy knowledge by 1.67% and partners have been able to compile journalistic works uploaded on the website, while for technology facilitation the KIM Biting website is available which can be accessed at https://kimbiting.com/ and social media consisting of Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube KIM Biting. The results obtained have reached the target set by the service implementer. The contribution of this paper is in the form of a group-based community empowerment model through digital literacy education and technology facilitation.
