Abstract

Books are scientific products that teachers can apply for academic promotion, and they have a fairly large credit score ranging from 1 to 6. Not all teachers are able to write and publish books, not to mention paying attention to anti-plagiarism. The success of the program cannot be separated from the strategy applied in the program implementation process. The purpose of this stimulus community service activity is to design strategies for teacher assistance in writing and publishing books through mapping participant knowledge. The participants of this activity were five biology teachers at the Sidoarjo MGMP Biology. Participants are given a test on basic knowledge and they are required to include reference sources and compile a bibliography. The knowledge test consists of 20 questions, of which 10 questions are about basic theory, 5 questions are about assessing other people’s writing, and 5 questions are about determining whether or not to choose. From the test results, one person got the highest score of 70, three people got the score of 60, and one person got the lowest score of 40. The most spread of answer errors is in question number 18 (100%); 4, 7, 15, 17 (80%); 2, 12, 19 (60%); 6, 8, 14, 20 (40%). The approach of this program is a participatory approach. The mentoring strategy implemented in the program in the field consists of 1) material strengthening, 2) demonstrations to participants, 3) role-playing participants, 4) independent practice, 5) monitoring, 6) script compilation and termination, and 7 ) book publishing.
